We are currently seeking an Instructor who will be responsible for authoring and leading clinical validation documentation analysis to meet CAP/CLIA standards, evaluating emerging technologies by assessing their data quality and relevance to project needs, collaborating with internal and external IT and bioinformatics teams for the implementation and support of new software and technologies, directing the development of novel software tools and analysis methods, serving as a scientific and technical advisor, and more.

This role offers ample opportunity to develop new research directions at the interface between research investigation and clinical care. The successful applicant will work with the entire HGSC, including laboratory process development groups, high performance computing specialists, and investigative biologists.

As part of a new National Institutes of Health Common Fund program called the Somatic Mosaicism across Human Tissues (SMaHT) Network, BCM-HGSC will establish a genome characterization center (GCC) for the consortium. The GCC will use existing state-of-the-art methodologies and tools as wells a develop new ones to catalog the extent of somatic mosaicism in different cell types, tissues and life stages, to better understand how much somatic mosaicism influences human biology and disease.
